Hi there!
Last month, I wasn’t able to come here—this season of my life has turned out to be the most demanding I’ve ever experienced. So, I will walk my talk and offer myself some grace and time. I will be back in September with monthly posts. Enjoy the summer if you are in the Northern Hemisphere, and cozy up in the winter if you are in the Southern Hemisphere. The recording practice below will explore our relationship with joy. I hope you like it. Take good care!

One Movie
I’ve watched this movie several months ago and I think about it weekly.
One song
Also the whole playlist from the movie is here
One Frame
If you were to frame something, what would you frame?
One word
I learned from the movie that there’s a word in Japanese: Komorebi 木漏れ日 (pronounced kō-mō-leh-bē). It literally means “sunlight leaking through trees.” This word describes the beauty and wonder of rays of light dappling through overhead leaves, casting dancing shadows on the forest floor. Like most untranslatable words, komorebi captures something much more than its literal meaning, it captures a feeling, a moment in time, a glimpse into something. More on the word here
One video
A handy tip for the Easily Distracted by Miranda July (lol)
One poem
“You don’t have to fix everything. You don’t have to solve everything”
How does your body feel when you whisper these words to yourself?
poem by Morgan Harper Nichols
One recipe
My friend Barrett, who makes the most delicious food, writes the newsletter 'Barrett & the Boys' and makes this Creamy Herb Vinaigrette which is by far the best dressing I’ve ever had.
One reminder
How do you know you are in the right path? Because it disappears.

One breathing practice
This one is great for releasing and resetting:
Take a deep, slow breath through the nose.
Gently hold.
Exhale, flapping the lips (like horses do), letting all the air out.
Repeat steps 3 to 5 times.
If you feel particularly tense or stressed, you can add some jumps to it.
One question
What is your idea of a perfect day?
with love,
Mariana
MEDITATION RECORDING
This practice will explore our relationship to joy. I hope you like it!
Find a quiet place. You can either sit down (using all the props you need to feel comfortable) or lie down if you are not feeling super sleepy.
Keep your eyes closed, or if that feels uncomfortable, you can focus your gaze somewhere near you on the ground
Thank you for the lovely snippets x
Dear Mariana, I hope things improve for you over the summer and life becomes easier. Remember the Universe always has your back. With love, Katex
